40 Hours of 40k will host up to 32 teams battling it out over the course of TEN rounds of Warhammer in the longest non-stop tournament in the city's history!
There will also be a players lounge area for participants to hang out and cheer their team mates on. Drinks and some snacks will be available for players to purchase and we’ll probably run some movies for anyone wanting to chill out for a while. PLEASE notify the TO’s if you or any of your teammates have any severe allergies.

Why We’re Here: The purpose of this whole event is to rally money and awareness for men's mental health, specifically through the HeadsUpGuys program and their affiliation with the University of British Columbia. We ask that each team that signs up does all they can to help raise money for this fundraiser towards our goal of over $10,000 raised. Any donations will also earn a ticket towards our raffle mega-prize, a FULLY PRO PAINTED 40k army, with work from artists across Canada. Every $5 donated earns you one more ticket towards the draw(please notify the organizers if you do not wish to be part of the draw).

Event Format This is a SEMI-COMP event. Whilst it will have a full tournament structure, players will be playing for the love of the hobby and the cause. There are prizes to be awarded for the event listed further in the pack.
The event will be periodically live-streamed to the 40 Hours of 40k broadcast and run concurrently with the 40 hours of 40k event in the UK as well.
Rerolls for donations (per round rerolls start at $2.00 for free CP reroll and doubles every time after that)
Anyone who wishes not to be photographed or recorded needs to notify the organizers before the start of the first round.
To enter the event, players will need to form a team and come up with a team name. Teams can have any number of players from 1 to 10 - We are striving to ensure full teams for the charity event.
PLAYERS ARE WELCOME TO SIGN UP WITH MORE THAN ONE TEAM. Anyone who does so should make sure they coordinate with those teams though to make sure they aren’t getting asked to play for multiple teams in the same round.
The event will be run like a normal tournament, albeit a 10 round one, with approximately 4 hour round times, to facilitate ease of player swaps and give time for rest for fatigued gamers. Each round each team will have ONE representative from their team play. This allows the players on a team to work in shifts to cover the whole 40 hours that the event will run.
Teams do NOT have to play each round if they can’t make the time work, but are encouraged to play as many rounds as they can. Likewise team mates are welcome to come and hang out and cheer on their mates as well as take in the other games going on.
There are no limitations or expectations on how many rounds each player from a team plays. Teams can have one player play 5 rounds, two players play 2 rounds each, and another play 1 round, or any other combination. The important thing is that players get together with their buds and come out and contribute to the cause, while getting in some epic games of 40k in the process.
Armies will be up to 2000 points, built to the 10th edition Pariah Nexus matched play rules.
This event will be played using the matched play rules from the 10th edition Pariah Nexus pack.
In addition, any applicable dataslates, FAQs and errata released by August 30, 2024 will be used.
Missions will be added in the near future, and will be in the schedule section of this document.
Terrain will be placed according to the Games Workshop official terrain layouts. The precise layout for each game will be announced alongside the missions.
There will be 4 hour rounds for each game. There will be a hard “dice down” at that time. Please ensure you and your opponent communicate to ensure both players have enough time to get through an even number of turns. These rounds have extended times to allow for more casual play as well as make timing easier on players who have to play while up past their bedtime. Each new round will begin immediately after the end of the previous one.
At the start of any round, if two teams who are matched up wish to play a doubles game instead of a singles game, they are welcome to do so. All participating players on both teams will need to have a 1000 point list ready to go at the start of the round if they wish to do this, and the teams can then proceed to play a 2v2 game for that round.
Modeling and Painting Models do not have to be painted for this event, but your entire army must be battle ready to score the 10 points for playing with a Battle Ready army. We will perform a “battle ready check” during the first round to ensure scoring transparency. Clear bases such as those found on skimmer models do not have to be painted and/or based in order to count as finished. If in doubt, email your TO for approval, but consistency and a finished look are what we look for. (Definition of “Battle Ready”)
All models are expected to be WYSIWYG to a reasonable standard. Exceptions will be made for themed units or armies. Note the following: Weapons may be counted as another type, provided the weapon being counted as does not appear elsewhere in the army. For example, if a player had harlequin skyweavers with haywire cannons and wanted to count them as shuriken cannons that would be acceptable, provided no other haywire cannons appear elsewhere in the army
Using a proxy for a model violates this policy.
Using a reasonable substitute to “Counts As” another model, does not violate this policy. This rule exists to allow converted armies. If in doubt, send a picture of the model to your TO in advance to ask if it is acceptable.
Pairings and Placement: This event will use a simple Wins < BPs <OGW% < Wins SoS placing and pairing metric. Teams will be treated as a single combined player for these calculations.
Round 1 pairings will be random as per usual with BCP. They will be made and published on BCP by September 5th @ 10:00pm, so teams will know their round 1 opponents when they arrive.
Sportsmanship: The ITC Code of Conduct will be in effect (Linked here).

Awards Top Team - Team that finishes highest in the BCP rankings at the end of the event.
Children of the Night - Awarded to the Team that has the highest total score on the overnight games (from 10pm - 6am Friday and Saturday night).
Wooden Spoon - Awarded to the Team that stuck it out against all odds throughout the event.
Best Painted Team - Awarded to the Team that shows their commitment to #fullypainted and has the best presentation among competing teams.
Best Team Sportsmanship - Awarded to the Team that had the most votes as favorite opponents. (This is awarded to those who embody fair play and are examples of the players the hobby thrives on).
